S8 E78 - Mikhael Romain

Tune into Shelly's chat with one of our favorite Prop Stylists, Mikhael Romain. She started her career in San Francisco working for Meredith Publishing, assisting one of their editors and that is where she learned what it was to be a prop stylist both by assisting other stylists and sometimes by working on her own for magazines in their editorial department. One of those stylist's was Gary Spain, he was a freelance stylist prior to his current job, Chief Product and Integration Officer at Restoration Hardware. She assisted him for two years, with some brief stints in editorial as a full time writer and design editor for CA Home and Design.  After leaving the magazine world, she came back to work for Gary at Restoration Hardware in-house, styling their stores, working on their web and catalog shoots too. Her experience is vast and her path extensive, which makes her a prolific and well organized stylist for sure.

Kendra Aronson and I spoke in the height of the corona virus but her energy and story of how she wrote, photographed, styled and published her own cookbook lifted my spirits greatly. This woman is a power house and when she gets an idea, nothing stands in her way to make it happen.
